We Provide A Remarkable Approach To Education That Allows The Child To Follow Their Interests.

The children come first at Montessori of Woodridge. This has always been our philosophy and the power behind all of our decisions. Our classroom programs are based on the Montessori freedom of choice. The Montessori philosophy believes in cultivating the child's natural desire to learn by supplying the materials to meet their interests.

Our Programs

Infant/Toddler

In the infant/toddler classroom, classroom materials focus on the physical and language development of the child. The routines of the classroom prepare the child for life.

2 Year Olds

The classroom offers materials for refining large and small motor skills. We also focus on social skills such as following instructions, waiting your turn, choosing to share or not to share, taking out one material at a time, and putting away a work as they finish playing with it.

3 to 6 Year Olds

The primary program has been designed to meet the young child's social, academic, and emotional needs. It continues with the philosophy mentioned for the younger child.

A 3-year mixed group allows children at varying stages of development to learn from one another and have continuity from year to year. The Montessori of Woodridge provides Montessori materials for learning geometry, numbers, place value, reading, and writing. When the children are ready, they read, create plays, and write and illustrate stories.

We also have props for restaurant, food shopping and puppet shows. A balance beam and exercise mat, along with line time exercises are available when the weather warrants staying inside. We try to go outside daily.

Five Star

My son has been in the program at Montessori of Woodridge for about two months. When he started it he had the verbal skills of a two year old at the age of four. Since he has been in the program, his language has exploded. The staff takes the time to understand what each child needs and gives them the tools to learn. I would recommend this program highly.
